More Canoeing - Returning to the Alapaha and Dead Rivers

Last Thursday I went canoeing along the Alapaha. It was a tough slog up the river to the Dead River as the water was flowing fairly swiftly. Here are a few 4x5 photos I took:

 
I also brought along a couple of 35mm cameras to shoot for fun. First, I had an old point and shoot, the L35AF from Nikon. Sadly I killed it at the end of the day when it fell out of my bag into sand and water. But here's some of the photos:

 And finally, I shot a roll with my Nikon F2 and a new lens I've been infatuated with - the 8mm f/2.8 circular fisheye. You will be seeing more from this lens soon! It is pretty neat:

Sally's Swamp

This was a while ago but just now getting around to developing some of this film over the weekend. A few weeks ago I went canoeing with my friend Sally at some swampland she owns, along with Dominick as well. This swamp is pretty amazing, and teeming with wildlife. We saw a turtle laying eggs:

Later on an armadillo hiding:

And what I didn't get a photo of was lots of ospreys flying around and nesting! I need to bring a big birding lens to this location.

All of the above were with my Bessa R2S and 3.5cm f/1.8 Nikkor lens. I also had my Travelwide Wanderlust camera and a new 90mm f/6.8 Rodenstock lens that I shot from the canoe on HP5+ film:

Alapahoochee Canoeing

Went canoeing a couple of weeks ago but haven't had a chance to post. I shot mostly My Pentax 67ii with 35mm fisheye, 55mm, and 105mm lenses on Tri-X and Fuji 160S:
