Christmas 2014 Bonus - U.S.S. Alabama "Battleship Park"

Meagan and I occasionally stop at the U.S.S. Alabama on the way home. I really like the battleship as well as the various planes, tanks, and other vehicles on display around the grounds.

The weather was beautiful so I shot a couple of rolls of film with my Pentax 67 and mostly my 35mm f/4.5 Fisheye, or some with the 55-100mm f/4.5 zoom. Here's the black and white images (color images still haven't gotten developed as I have 1 or 2 more frames on the roll!):

These were all on Ilford HP5+, developed in SPUR HRX, a new favorite combo. I love the tones with this film and developer.

Christmas 2014, Part Five - Biloxi, etc.

I've been too busy to post lately, but finally here's the rest of my Christmas 2014 images.

Meagan and I headed to Biloxi late in the day and we snapped some images of the sunset along the Gulf Coast:

In Biloxi we of course had plenty of time to hang out with family:

And this is two images from my grandfather's shop:

A couple more images when we walked around at night:

That's about it for Christmas...but I have some bonus images to post next time...

Christmas 2014, Part Four - The Cabildo, St. Louis Cathedral, and The Presbytere

One of our favorite parts of NOLA is the cathedral. Here's a few shots inside. The first two are with my 12mm f/5.6 Voigtlander lens on the M6, the other two with my Pentax 67 and 105mm:

Next are a variety of images in the two museums:

Meagan and I also perused one of the old cemeteries near NOLA. I actually found my surname on one of the graves, which is interesting.

The last evening we went back to City Park and enjoyed some coffee and beignets as well as the sunset:

Well that's about it for NOLA. The next day we went to Biloxi, MS for Christmas. I'll finish up next time...

Christmas 2014, Part Three - Celebration in the Oaks and Street Performers

After seeing the Sculpture Garden, Meagan and I took a break and then went to the Celebration in the Oaks, a huge Christmas Light show in City Park. I took lots of pictures with my F2 and 35mm f/1.4 or 50mm f/1.2:

We were exhausted so we went back to our hotel and pretty much went to sleep. The next day we wandered the French Quarter some more and saw some sights and shops:

Along the way we saw lots of street musicians. One of my favorite things about NOLA is the street performers, especially the musicians:

Here's one more of the street performers but it was an unexpected triple-exposure:

The images above were with a variety of cameras - mostly my Pentax 67 and either 55-100mm f/4.5 zoom or 165mm f/2.8, but also with my Leica M6 and 50mm lens with Tri-X rated at 1600, and just a couple with my Nikon F2.

More photos later!
