4x5 Images from the Boneyard

Here's some 4x5 images from Big Talbot. I definitely learned a lot from these and the 35mm ones. These aren't the best photos - despite some nice clouds and good locations the light just wasn't quite right. That's the trouble with driving 2.5 hours to a location - to get the BEST light of the day, I need to leave at 4am to get there at 6:30 or so. It was also rough dodging tourists, being a holiday weekend.

Anyway, here are some of the better photos. All were taken on either T-Max 100, developed in Rodinal, or T-Max 400, developed in Pyrocat HD.

  1. Bryan, I like these images. Well done on the compositions. I can see where a little better light would have made a big difference. I'm heading up to Oregon soon and hoping I can motivate myself to get some sunrise photos while I am there. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thank you! It's an interesting conundrum for me - there are a lot of pretty cool places within 2-3 hours of me, but it is hard to make time to go there without major forethought - checking weather patterns, having time off of work, etc. The closer stuff isn't nearly as picturesque (but I try!).

    Just gotta keep shooting!
